If you take a look upon the blogosphere you will clearly see that there are not so many real bloggers anymore. They just seem to be an extended arm of the advertising industry. And they do their job nearly perfect. They are the best stereotypes who are mostly liked by the mainstream! Real sale machines! Every item they are representing on their “blog” is sold out within hours. And that’s the whole deal with this story. The bloggers take a bath within their supposed “glory” and the companies make the big money. Win-Win.
But unfortunately also a very sad story, Of course I do not want to lump all bloggers together but I think that I am actually writing for so many of us. Bloggers sell themselves. Everywhere and constantly. The only thing that matters is their increasing traffic, Instagram followers and Unique Visitors. The real purpose of blogging is not existing anymore. Or do you know many bloggers who are clearly writing about deep issues, critizising or questioning current trends? Well, not so many right? Revolutionaries like Tavi Gevinson are disappeared.
In fact there are a few who truly thinks that they are some kind of icons even though they are not more than walking adverstising pillars. It has nothing to do with creativity or individuality. That’s such a pitty! Needless to say it is always great to get offered any cooperations or items for free. But if it is only obviously working off one after another collaboration it is only unreliably. If this is the own style or just paid by the companies?
Many fashionbloggers, Viele Fashionblogger, if they can be called like that, are acting probably acting more like a model. That’s exactly what they are doing. They are not asked for own opinions. They are wearing what they are getting and what is selling best. Just remember: earlier a blogger stands for making new trends, no not only, they really MADE new trends. Innovative and creative minds! And today? Clones, nothing but clones!
Everything you currently see on fashion magazines will be presented the next day on any blog around the globe as the “new hot shit”. Oh really? The funny thing is that recently every blogger is wearing the same trend at the same time. Bomber jackets are so en vogue? Ok then hurry up and buy one. Everyone has a bomber jacket. And if everyone has a bomber jacket they are oviously selling well. So they are all looking the same. Copy and paste. It is easy and simple and they do not have to think about new outfits on their own.
Please don’t get me wrong: there are also trends you really like. Well I also bought a bomber jacket. 😉 But and now we are coming to a big BUT: I have not sold my sould. I am only wearing clothes I actually like and I pay for it in 99% of the cases. I do not afford my life with blogging. I love fashion and I love writing. Two of my biggest obessions.
I also do not want to judge about the whole blogger scene, I just want to shake up and pleading for more creativity and less venality!
Let it out, concentrate on the essentials, we are all unique and that’s a good thing! Everyone has a unique style, you only have to stand for it!
